“As Coach” 12 Week Programs

Active ingredients in our “As coach” programs:

  1. You and, or your team learn the essential coaching skills at a deep level.
  2. You practice them.
  3. You reflect on what you’ve learned and practiced and get coaching to improve BEFORE moving on to the next skill where we repeat the process one real live challenge at a time over 12 weeks.

Because we’re dealing with real leadership challenges in real time, results are immediate.

The “As Coach Programs” are customized to specific developmental needs and challenges based on thorough assessments and deep experience growing leaders from the ground up.
01.

Physician Leader as Coach

Our caregivers work in some of the most complex environments. They are consistently challenged by anxiety, fatigue, and stress. Add to that the balancing act between why they chose a career in medicine in the first place and dealing with administrative expectations…it’s no wonder many feel burnout. What’s more, most have never been trained in leadership arts. As a result, they take a command-and-control approach to leadership that can do more harm than good.

We teach physician leaders using something doctors already know how to do well: ask curious questions to diagnose a situation. Physician Leader as Coach uses this knowledge to help leaders engage all stakeholders – care teams, direct reports, peers – using a caring, curious, empathetic framework for a conversation that has everyone involved feeling and doing better in no time.

02.

Executive Leader a Coach

As a manager, do you try to “fix” your team’s problems, or your organization’s challenges, by providing answers and direction? Does that feel overwhelming sometimes despite your MBA?

It does for most Executive Leaders. While many have prerequisite degrees, they’re challenged by implementing business models that are innovative and profitable. Finding and keeping the right talent, creating healthy work relationships, creating shareholder value…the list goes on and on.  It’s no wonder finding the time to create a company culture where people thrive slips through the cracks more often than not. And while many view corporate culture as it “would be nice,” to have, the often-unaddressed gap is a key driver to most performance indicators. Executive Leader as Coach provides a space for leaders to test people and strategy plans and explore every contingency and possibility for organization success.

03.

HR Leader as coach

So often, HR sees itself as a separate and distinct function from the rest of the business. Over-engineered systems (compliance, rewards, engagement, and performance management to name a few), often limit people’s creativity and innovation.

True organizational transformation comes from using the knowledge of integrated processes as a competitive advantage. Shifting the HR mindset from performance management to utilizing genius zones creates a team that works together as authentic and integrated business partners. HR Leader as Coach supports HR Leaders in building the right stakeholder relationships at the right levels to truly have a seat at the table.

What is culturally responsible leadership?

Simply put, Culturally Responsive Leadership means that you can relate to and have empathy for people you perceive as “like” and those you perceive as “different” from you. This isn’t obvious or easy. It means you actively do the work to engage team members, understand deep culture, and build trust.

When this work is done consistently, both the leader and the team member are socially and emotionally invested in the work. From here, building the knowledge and skills necessary to shift attitudes and achieve goals is far easier than it would be otherwise.

What’s more, team members become more empathetic, establish, and maintain positive relationships and make healthier and more effective choices independently.

Culturally Responsive Leadership fosters self-awareness, agency, independence, and self-esteem which significantly contribute to your business or hospital’s success.
